Huawei trolls Apple and Samsung, claims it would “never” slow down phones : Two days ago, the Italian Competition Authority fined Apple and Samsung a combined $17.06 million (€15 million) due to a “complex investigation” which found that both companies forced updates on users which, unbeknownst to them, slowed down older hardware, thus making them more likely to upgrade to a newer smartphone.

Huawei, from the looks of things, couldn’t resist the opportunity to troll its two main rivals and subsequently sent out a Tweet via its official UK Twitter account. This stated that the company would “never” slow phones down “to force an upgrade.” Moreover, with shipments of the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro set to commence today in the UK, it used to opportunity to promote the speed of its latest flagships by including the hashtags “BornFastStaysFast” and “NeverSlowDown.”

This is certainly not the first time Huawei has trolled its rivals, however. Way back in March, ahead of the P20 Pro’s announcement, Huawei purposely drove ad trucks past Samsung and Apple stores in the UK which promoted the smartphone. Then, back in September, the Chinese company took it upon itself to hand out free power banks to customers waiting for the new iPhone XS models. More recently, though, Huawei trolled Apple in its Mate 20 Pro presentation by displaying an image of a Mate 20 Pro charging an iPhone XS Max through the new reverse wireless charging feature.
