du’s financial chief has resigned : The chief financial officer for one of the UAE’s two telecom operators has resigned.

According to a statement from the Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC) Chief Financial Officer Amer Kazim has resigned.

Kazim joined the company five years ago and is leaving to join another Dubai government-owned firm.

Kazim will stay with EITC till the end of the first quarter of 2019 to ensure a smooth handover to supervise the full year 2018 financial results, the statement added.

His replacement has now been announced.

EITC is one of UAE’s two licensed telecommunications providers and operates two brands under its umbrella: du, launched in 2007 and Virgin Mobile, launched in 2017.

EITC’s major shareholders include the Emirates Investment Authority (39.5%), Mubadala Investment Company (19.75%), and Emirates International Telecommunications (19.5%).
